An estate sale or auction be the perfect spot to land a bargain on a unique item, unless of course the item is very old or very rare. You may have to outbid the person next to you, but you may have a better sense of the true value of the piece, and your plan is to resell the item at a higher price than what you bought it for.

However, until you can find someone to buy the items that you’ve purchased, you’ll need somewhere to store everything. Your garage or basement is probably not the best place for a valuable painting or an heirloom that’s 100 years old.
