Where Are Your Holiday Decorations?

Now that October is here, you and your family are likely looking forward to the upcoming holidays, starting with Halloween at the end of the month. In the Attic

The only time you go into the attic is to get something or to put something away. There might be all kinds of boxes and tubs up there, and you may not be sure which ones have your holiday decorations in them. Labeling your boxes is the easiest way to find what you need, and it can make life easier if you separate your Halloween, autumn, and Christmas or Hanukkah decorations into their own boxes.

If you’re not able to access your attic easily, or you’re unable to climb up and down the ladder to get into your attic space, then it might be a good idea to keep your holiday decorations in a different place, such as the garage or a self-storage unit. You may only need them for a few months each year, but they’ll be much easier to get to when it’s time to decorate!

If you have shelving in your garage, then consider dedicating a few spots on each shelf to boxes of decorations. Again, labeling is key here, and it’s important that you’re able to see what’s written on each box without having to take it down or open it.

Should the garage feel too cluttered or crowded, it might be a good idea to look into renting a small storage space. This can be especially beneficial if you have lots of decorations to store each year, and you’re always buying more things every holiday season.

Perhaps you already have a self-storage unit, and that’s where your holiday decorations are kept.
