Planning for Storage, Part 2

In our last post, we looked at some important steps that can help you plan for self-storage. In this post, we’ll cover some more things that you can do when planning for storage. At EZ Storage® in Philadelphia, we’re here to make sure that your belongings are safe and sound for as long as you need. With five locations across the greater metro area, you can find a space that’s close to your home or business. Be sure to check out our brand new location in Warrington!
Unloading Your Items
Once you have everything loaded into your car or our free* local move-in truck, then you’ll have to figure out how you’ll unload your items at the storage center. You may have asked for help from friends to load your belongings, and it can be a good idea to see if they can meet you at your storage unit to help unload everything. This can be especially beneficial if you have heavy items, and it’s courteous to line up people beforehand and let them know that there will be some heavy lifting.
Securing Your Unit
At EZ Storage®, all of our units are well-built and designed to withstand the elements, as well as constant wear and tear. Once everything is unloaded and stored in your rented space, you’ll want to be sure that it’s secure. Buying a lock that’s made for self-storage units is the best way to ensure that your stuff is protected, and that no one can access the space but you (or anyone you trust with the key). If you have any questions about site security, then our staff and resident managers will be more than happy to help. Our surveillance system keeps an eye on everything 24 hours a day, so you can rest assured that your things are guarded around the clock.
Accessing Your Stuff
After your things are in storage, you might not think about them for some time. On the other hand, there may be something in your unit that you decide you want back at the house, or you want to sell to someone else. When planning for storage, it’s important to think about when you’ll access your unit. One of the best things about renting with us is that we offer convenient access hours on every day of the year. You can get into your unit between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on any day of the year, including holidays. If you suddenly remember on a Saturday afternoon that something you need is in storage, then you won’t have to wait until Monday to get it!
